Hanover Plumbing was born out of the right mix of skills, drive, and timing. Run by Certifying Plumber, Gasfitter, and Drainlayer Gavin Hanover and his wife Kimberly, the business has been providing gas and plumbing services to New Plymouth since June 2015.

The team has a wide range of expertise to offer with a combined 30 years of experience, all at a competitive price. Because our team includes a Certifying Plumber and Certifying Gasfitters, this means we can test and certify our own work which saves our customers time and money.

Originally from Whakatane, Gavin spent many years dairy farming from the Bay of Plenty to Northland. He began working as a plumber in 2006, when he and his wife moved to her hometown of New Plymouth. Gavin is a Certifying Plumber, Gasfitter and Drainlayer. He has always wanted to run his own business and is enjoying managing people as well as being on the tools.
With a background as a teacher, Kimberly’s administrative and organisational skills are supporting the business part-time as it continues to grow. Her and Gavin have three children and she is able to adjust her schedule to fit in with the children, which is a great benefit of running their own business.
Henry began working with Hanover Plumbing & Gas in June 2016, and began his Plumbing/gasfitting apprenticeship shortly after. In 2020 he finished his apprenticeship, passed the exams and became a registered plumber and gasfitter.
Nicholas completed a plumbing/gasfitting apprenticeship in the UK. He came to New Zealand in 2007 settling straight away in Taranaki and began working with Hanover Plumbing & Gas in March 2018.
Cezanne is a Taranaki local and gained a painting trade before moving into his plumbing/gasfitting apprenticeship. He joined our team in May 2020. He is a qualified plumber and journeyman gasfitter.
Sam is our latest apprentice, he started with Hanover Plumbing & Gas in November 2020 after working in civil construction. This background has aloud him to transfer nicely to plumbing/gasfitting. The small size of the team means that he’s able to be mentored closely so that he can learn from the range of experiences of a maintenance based company. We look forward to supporting him as he trains in the trade!
