Now that we’ve had a little bit of sun, we’re remembering what summer feels like! The light late into the evenings, the smell of the BBQ grill and more of life happening outdoors. With NIWA predicting a scorcher this year, we’ve been dreaming about great ways to make hosting a BBQ in your yard more enjoyable this summer.

Streamline the BBQ Gas

If you have natural gas connected to your home, ask Hanover Plumbing to run the pipes to your backyard so that you can connect your BBQ. This means no fizzle-outs in the middle of cooking dinner to go fill the gas bottle! If you use LPG, talk to us about running it to your BBQ too!

Install a Spa Pool

What backyard gathering is complete without a spa pool to kick back and relax in? It’s a quintessential part of summer fun – and sometimes even better on a rainy winter night! Gas heating of a spa pool tends to be the quickest option but you can also explore setting up solar panels to run it. We can help you with getting the right plumbing setup too.

Warm Up on Cool Nights

Even after the food has been eaten, it’s not time to go inside just yet! Give your family and your guests more time outside with an outdoor gas heater. It lets you enjoy your patio a little longer once the nights start to dip in temperature. They are a great addition to your entertaining space and hooking it up to your gas main or your LPG bottle again reduces the need to always have to take the bottle away to fill it.

An Outdoor Shower Keeps the Sand Out

(Ok so this might not help with hosting a BBQ but it’s a fun idea to consider anyways!) With summer comes plenty of beach days and inevitably, sand in the house! Installing an outdoor shower might be simpler than you think. Because it doesn’t require shower liners, glass doors or as much waterproofing – it can actually be fairly cost-effective to get up and running. This gives you and the family a place to rinse off after a big day at the beach. (It is also great for dog bathing!)
